Lil' Wayne real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. and he was born on September 27th 1982 in New Orleans Louisiana. Lil Wayne is an American Rapper and used to be a member of a rap group called Hot Boys.

Lil Wayne grew up in the Hollygrove neighborhood of New Orleans. He was enrolled in a 'gifted' program of Lafayette Elementary School and was in the drama club in secondary school (Eleanor McMain). Lil' Wayne dropped out of school at 14.

Lil Wayne wrote his first rap song at 8 years old, and started rapping on Bryan Williams (owner of Cash Money Records) answering machine at age 11.

Lil Wayne has two daughters and one son. His first daughter was born when he was a teenager and another daughter with his high school sweetheart Antionia Toya Johnson. Carter and Johnson married on Valentines Day in 2004 and then divorced in 2006. Carter's son Dwayne Carter III was born in 2008.

Lil Wayne really reached the height of his popularity in 2004 with the album Tha Carter and his two subsequent albums That Carter II (2005) and III (2008). He is set to release a rock album titled Rebirth in 2009.

Lil Wayne has also been nominated for 8 Grammy awards.
